And they're using her more than anyone else in the cast, which I find befuddling.

Doesn't it look like she's reading cue cards every single minute she's on camera?

YES! That's what gets me. Guest hosts, it bugs me, but hey. They didn't write it, they're not professional sketch actors.

But this girl? She came up through Second City. Learn the lines, go off the cuff occasionally. Stop boring me with your monotone delivery and frumpy soccer mom look.

Blame Lorne, then. He insists they read off the cue cards (due to last-minute script changes).
If you ever wonder why Bill Hader cracks up during the Stefon bits, it's because he's seeing half his lines for the first time. They even make changes from dress rehearsal to showtime.

I kind of got the impression that Hader did that on purpose though - it works for that specific skit. Stefon does always make me crack up, just because it's so god damn weird. This also reminds me that they haven't done the French dancing skit yet this year, which I also like.

Nope, terrier's right - the writer who created Stefon often makes changes to the bit before the live show, so Hader doesn't know what his dialogue is going to be.

Liked the singing girls skit too. The rest of the show was horrifyingly bad. Worst one I've seen in a long, long time. When will they realize the widespread disdain for Armisen? The combination of the Bloomberg and then the Domincan talk show made me want to smash my television.

The first French dancing skit (Les Juenes des Paris) featured Emma Stone, and she's hosting again Nov. 12.

I haven't watched in ages but tuned in tonight to see if they "touched" Penn State. I mean, how do you mock child rape?
But they did, with even the devil being horrified, and I admit it made me laugh.

And then these morons in Thanksgiving sweaters starting singing horribly and it wasn't funny. Click.

I'm not watching tonight, but did tune in last week for the first time in a long time to see if they could, indeed, find a way for Charlie Day to not be funny. The did it. The skits were lame and thoughtless. Parts of Weekend Update were funny, but that's about it.

The show needs revamped to the Nth degree before they kill it. There's a lot of young, funny people working in TV and comedy. Saturday Night Live has none of them.

Well, I take a bit of that back. Andy Sandberg is very funny, but very underutilized as far as I can tell from the few times I've watched the past three or four years.

Agred, but I'm digging the French dancers.
