SNL's Continued Downward Spiral Thread

If I could go with a cast of eight - any era:

Murphy, Belushi, Hartman, Carvey, McKinnon, Radner, Murray, Fey

 

I’d drop McKinnon from that list and add:

 

To be an all-timer on SNL you either had to anchor WU or created a character everyone knows. Has there been a memorable character since Stephon?

 

I recently watched the Gilda documentary, and she should certainly be higher on the list. What a funny woman.

 

I think Jebediah was on the way until Taran Killam quit/was axed.

Then, you've got this...

 

The "best" characters are portayals of real people. The only recurring characters I can think of are a few WU bits with Cecily Strong and Heidi Gardner, McKinnon's alien abductee, bar fly and cat person and Thompson's various "host" personas.

 

I love What’s Ip With That? Makes me laugh even though I know the joke coming.

 

Can't forget Samuel L. Jackson's fun with the FCC.
