I think they probably had Pete on standby for whenever the writer's strike ended, especially since he was supposed to go last spring. And it's not like there's any acting jobs to prevent him from doing SNL.

Bad Bunny is such a huge figure internationally, I gotta believe this was in the works for a little while.

Yeah, actors strike has to make the pool limited. Not sure exactly what the restrictions are. Certainly can't be on with anything to promote.

And I'd guess the vast majority of actors will honor the picket line, even if they could appear on a technicality.

They'll just be there to do the skits, or to promote stuff that's not new acting. Like how Matthew McConaughey has been doing the rounds to promote his new kids book, but not any movies he has in the pipeline.

Also, duh, but Pete was supposed to host the week the strike started, so this makes total sense

Why is Pete Davidson out here catching strays? I think he’s hilarious.

And yeah, the host pool is going to be limited until SAG-AFTRA settles. Not only can they not talk about current projects, they can’t really talk about (or participate in parodies of) past projects.

Davidson has never done anything outside of his own act, which gets tiresome. He adds nothing beyond his stale jokes.

Yeah. Pete's fine for episode 17 of 23. Even if there's a strike, I figure there's someone better - like Bad Bunny.

I am not getting Bad Bunny as a host and performer. I don't run in those circles.

Will he wear a pancake on his head?

He was on deck when the strike cancelled his week back in the Spring. And it doesn't hurt that Lorne is the EP of his show.

I mean, if it isn't, Lorne has lost his connection with pop culture.
