Great start, and the Foos coming up. Hope Moddy's watching.

    Solid ep, so far.

EDIT: Did I miss a Matthew Perry interstitial memorial? I mean, he did host once…

    Or a Taylor Hawkins?

Not yet, as we get into the Foo's first song.

I've been waiting for it too, but now I'm thinking they usually air in memoriam screens after Update.

Dave Grohl's 15th appearance on SNL between Foo and Nirvana, and the 10th for Foo.

He's gotta be the most prolific musical act in SNL history, this side of Paul Simon.

There are few things I've liked more in recent SNL years than Sarah Sherman (in or out of character) just roasting the shit out of Colin Jost on Update.

Agreed. Solid. Sherman v. Jost is always good.

Hey, they even got the new girl a few lines.

Then they threw garbage at her.

The Perry tribute airs just before the end credits. Quiet but poignant.

This metric system slayed me. Well done.

Went from a Christopher Columbus parody last week to a George Washington parody this week. What's next? Timothee Chalamet as young Abe Lincoln?

Another nugget via the SNL Archives website (the Baseball Reference for SNL), Mikey Day is the ninth person to portray Joe Biden, dating back to Kevin Nealon in the early '90s.

Nealon, Sudeikis, Harrelson, Mulaney, Carrey, Moffatt, JAJ, Davidson, Day

Not even Bill Clinton, Trump and both Bushes have had that many.

Hillary also had nine: Hooks, Garofalo (!), Gasteyer, Poehler, Barrymore, Dratch, Bayer, Cyrus, McKinnon
