SNL's Continued Downward Spiral Thread

I'm not a regular SNL watcher anymore, but wow, am I wrong that that opener tonight was baaaaaaad? Really awkward.

 

Horrible cold open being saved by this Adam Driver monologue.

 

I didn't even stay for the monologue. I wonder how many others bailed.

Wonder if this will be a story.

 

Give us west coasters a description of the cold open.

 

That Old Friends movie was awesome.

 

Didn't see any glaring issue with the cold open, other than it was just another skit based around the MAGA princess du jour. Maybe not as strong as it could be for a political skit to open the show.

 

Awful awful awful cold open but every skit since has been very good. Super weird ratio there.

 

I just turned on SNL for the first time in many years, just as that Old Friends thing was starting. It was great.

Then Beep Beep just reminded me of why I hadn’t watched in years.

 

Is Pete Schwetty involved with that chocolate company?

 

Beep Beep was weirdly funny to me.

And the chocolate dong skit made me LOL a couple of times.

 

Olivia Rodrigo is fucking great.

 

Between Longfellow last week and Hernandez this week, the new generation is getting their chance to shine on Update.

Marcelo really offers a different angle SNL never really has had with a Latino male, aside from Sanz and Armisen maybe.
