Fictional. But how would Jost know in that moment?

"SNL Weekend Update" joke swap hailed as "best" ever

Catching up on the last two...it really is something that the cast has really jelled. For a while I figured they were trying to figure out who their A players were, but the cast is deep and all shine and contribute in different ways. It really helps a sketch when you don't know exactly how it will play out as soon as you see who is in it and the basic character. Instead of giving "the ball" to two or three performers repeatedly as they've done in the past, you see cast members switching in and out of lead and supporting roles on sketches and it is very refreshing and makes the "joke" of the sketch the main thing, rather than the person delivering it.

Got Kenan Thompson's book for Christmas, and it's a good read. Kind of a hybrid of biography with general insight into various stages of his life.

I've been a fan of his since that Nickelodeon/Mighty Ducks days, and he's a fellow Atlanta-area native, so it was very enjoyable.

Praying that Justin Timberlake makes an appearance next week in a "Bring it on down to..." sketch.

Tonight has started pretty forgettable up until the great bowling sketch.

How is Timberlake not also the host? That's just a wasted opportunity,

And yeah, this was super slow before the bowling sketch & Update, which has been very good.

The crowd acknowledged her when she introduced the second song, but Rachel McAdams' cameo in the acting class sketch got crickets.

They advertised Please Don't Destroy in the credits, and it's now 12:56. Did I miss something?

Along when bowling and Update, I thought the Alaska Airlines bit was good. But overall a pretty forgettable episode.

The crowd really didn’t pick up on the McAdams cameo. It was awkward.

For someone who had never seen Renee Rapp before, I was thoroughly impressed. I had to look her up on Wikipedia to understand the connection with McAdams. Whoa.

Hell, they probably should've just had her double-dip as host, too. Couldn't have been any worse than the dude last night.

He did seem to be portraying a soft-porn actor most of the night. Which he sorta is, I guess, from what I've seen of Saltburn.

But yeah, you don't have somebody going from Broadway headliner to pop star every day.

They couldn't have just cut any number of the bland sketches they did show (other than the bowling alley) and put this one instead?
