Well, they tend to announce new cast members after the ones departing are known. Oddly enough though, I don't even think they do tryouts for new slots until a couple weeks before the first show.

    YES. I'd love a Rudolph/Martin SNL ticket.

Honestly, I could see Walz portraying himself.

Nobody in the present cast looks like him. He's kind of a cross between Ned Beatty and Wallace Shawn.

Speaking of SNL and casting, the first looks at the upcoming movie on the debut season. I'll wait to see the movie to see how it turns out, but the work on matching the actors to the OG cast members/crew was pretty damn good.

Matthew Rhys is playing the first host -- George Carlin.

I'll be intrigued to see how he pulls that off.

How the hell is Walz only 60 years old?! I find that astonishing. I woulda guessed at least 70…

I don't think Steve Martin even needs to imitate Walz. He could just spout political one liners as his old "wild and crazy guy" bit and pull it off.

Actually - I thought of the perfect choice - and apparently he's back working again.

Because he doesn't over whiten or over veneer his teeth. Because he hasn't had hair plugs or visited "Men's Hair Restoration". Because he naturally went gray as most 60 year olds do. Because he's not putting lifts in his shoes. I guess because this man seems to be comfortable with who he is, and not who politics expect him to be. I'm not really after you here, just societal expectations of "age". Women or men. Think Barbara Bush.
