I thought it was tremendous through the first half, and weakened after that.

Proof that celebrity cameos breathe life into the show. The digital short was a continuing series of "Whoas!"

  2. And that's what happens when you fail at multi-tasking. Thanks, IJAG, for setting me straight. Obviously, it's WILL Ferrell. And I was still underwhelmed by the show that what's-his-name hosted. ;)

Jeff Beck, Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire are all scheduled for Saturday night's season finale that Mick Jagger is hosting.

Keef told Rolling Stone today the other Stones won't be involved. Which means they'll probably show up anyway. Hopefully.

I went with the John Belushi Killer Bee. It worked great, expect that the sunglasses plus a very dark Moose Lodge equals lots of chances to trip and fall. Also, the open bar all night probably didn't help.

That's awesome. And any night that has an open bar and DOESN'T involve tripping and falling is a failure.

    Well-played, Mauer.

It would've hurt to give yourself a massive head wound, anyway.

For a Wes Farrell hosted show, I would've expected much, much more of the music...

This is the first time I knew his name was spelled Gotye. I figured it was spelled Gauleiter. I'm terrible at foreign languages.

I couldn't disagree more. I thought the digital short was weak because, like many of them, it simply relied on celebrity appearances.

I heard on one of the podcasts (probably Nerdist) that Seth Meyers was showing cast members every digital short ever and seeded the top 64 NCAA Tournament style to find out which one they thought was the best.

They never said which one won, or if they're even done doing it.

Of the recent ones, as much as I like the ones JT is in, I think "I Just Had Sex" may be the funniest they've had in a long, long time...

Lazy Sunday 2 and another Hamm cameo have been the high spots tonight. Though Jagger plus Arcade Fire was pretty good.
