Abby Elliott is leaving the show too.

If it's happening this late in the game, probably not completely by choice. SNL is famous for stringing along cast members until right before the new season starts, which has resulted in some pretty good people leaving out of frustration.

I always liked Elliott. Not only is it pretty cool to have both a parent and a child in the cast, I thought she was pretty good.

The close-up shot of her in the credits is, IMHO, the stuff of dreams.

Yeah, based on who her father is, her mother must be gorgeous.... :D

I wonder how much the breakup with Armisen played in it.

First thing I thought of too, Inky. Unless she turns up on some WB sitcom by October.

I figured Abby Elliott would've been a lock to return as the top female following Kristen Wiig's departure. I guess that now goes to Nasim Pedrad?

I'd be OK with that. She has been pretty good, and not bad to look at either. Never was a big fan of Elliott (or her dad).

Maybe she saw Casey Wilson's success and figured...why not?

Abby Elliot was hardly ever on the show.
Nasim Pedrad and Vanessa Bayer get a lot more screen time.
I don't watch regularly, but when I do put the show on I see those two much more than Elliot.

Jay Mohr told a story on his podcast about how Michaels was once chewing out the cast and said, "And if any of you don't like it, go become the third lead on a sitcom." and Mohr said that most of the cast members started looking around the room like, "Hey, that sounds a lot better than this shit."

Of course, he neglected to tell Mohr that it's imperative to keep that sitcom on the air.
