I don't get the whole Gangnam Style thing, but nice of SNL to acknowledge it.

    Puppet sketch = awesome

7 for 7. (I'm not counting the monologue.)

I love it, but I also love pop culture kitsch.

I think I laughed harder at that sketch than I have at SNL in a long time. At least three years.

Was that John Mayer playing guitar during Frank Ocean's first musical segment?

That stuttering sketch was a miss for me. But at least it wasn't a fucking train wreck, which would have put it in the top half of the complete shitshow from last year.

  8. Two sets of guests slows the pace too much. Either one would have been enough. Meyers had good stuff, though.

I liked the Lochte part. Not so much the Latina part.

Apparently that was, in fact, John Mayer backing up Frank Ocean. Good to know he's keeping himself busy. Too bad he didn't pop up in any sketches; I think he could pull off a good cameo appearance given the right material.

Macfarlane was entertaining, but I personally expected more outrageous humor from him. Pharaoh's Obama was way overdue.

This was a pretty damn good SNL... I laughed my ass off at the Gangnam Style sketch. If that song isn't No. 1 by the end of September...
