I agree with shotglass that it is still worthwhile TV. What else is better late on a Saturday night? It is still appointment TV for me, since I get home from work around 1 a.m. and I have something to entertain me (at times) before I go to bed. I enjoy most of the hosts, and I sometimes hear some new music from the musical guests, though they are pretty crappy at times too. I don't think it's worth pulling the plug. Could it be better? No doubt. BUt I still get a few good laughs each night, and I am one of the few (only?) who enjoys Weekend Update and Seth's take on the week's news (most of the time).

No posts about Louis CK hosting? I loved the Lincoln as Louis in the show.

Watched for the first time since....maybe the Lohan week. As expected, CK delivered the goods. That last skit was wildly uncomfortable and hilarious.

I liked fun. very much. That last song was pretty damn powerful, and a bit like a band exploding into stardom.

I watched 2 minutes of the first song then fast-forwarded. I don't get them.

I was surprised that was the last skit - It was great. So uncomfortable and awesome, as you said.

And I'm with imjustagirl - I don't get fun. (HA, get it, play on words?) I like the first 30 seconds of "We Are Young", but then it just turns into commercial junk rock.

When she first started I thought she was fantastic. And then they kept making her play the same fucking annoying character with a different name and outfit. She played 50 different characters all the same fucking way. Whether that's her fault or the writers' fault is another debate.

Keep in mind that on SNL, the performer typically is the writer, especially in the Wiig's case. The reason it wasn't a stretch for Wiig to write Bridesmaids is she spent all those years writing sketches for SNL. One of the reasons Lorne speaks so fondly of Wiig and Pohler is they were creative and prolific. I would agree Wiig's characters were frequently meh, but I think Lorne liked that he could count on her to have multiple ideas every week.

I still think McKinnon is the best new female cast member the show has produced in years.

    From wiki:

That seems odd. But good on her?
