Right, which is another way the bias would take shape, since nobody else is judged against 2007.

I think some of it also had to do with SEC fatigue -- this was when the whole superiority complex was taking off -- and some of it was because cynical reporters got tired of hearing about The Promise.

And we heard it a few weeks ago, before Manziel played his way out of the conversation.

"Do you really wanna give this guy two Heismans? Really?"

Now, would it have been enough idiot voters to make a difference? Maybe. Maybe not. But I have no doubt there would have been plenty of them had Manziel been in the thick of it at the end of the season.

What does it matter? A voter is a voter is a voter.

You said we heard this. Who did we hear it from?

Listen, if you don't think there is a segment of the voting population who wouldn't vote for a guy simply because they don't want to see another two-time winner, you're a fool.

    Perhaps there are.

    But you said this:

And we heard it a few weeks ago, before Manziel played his way out of the conversation.

OK. Who did we hear it from?

The fact that this is what you're choosing to focus your attention on tells me that this debate has peaked.

Go play lawyer with someone else.
