I actually try to learn something new every day. That said, I forget about 10 things a day as well...like the day I learned to make beer, I forgot how to drive. That, or I was just really drunk.

Things I have learned on the board:
    Kermit says I hate soccer
    Coldcat is my sockpuppet
    Hater's going to hate

What I have had to teach people off this board recently:
Ronald Reagan is not from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Backstory: My cousin posts on his facebook that he had to inform his wife that Ronnie was from the U.P. because she didn't know that "The Gipper" was a Yooper. He seemed to miss the part where George Gipp is the ACTUAL Gipper and is from Laurium, Michigan. Regan PLAYED The Gipper in a movie.
...and he is the one with children...*palm to forehead*

I learned today that between recording the song in 1965 and his 2004 tour, Paul McCartney never played the song, "You Won't See Me"...making me wonder how often this kind of thing is the case with musicians.

  3. That people actually spend more than $50 per person on a meal occasionally. I did not think that was possible at 99 percent of restaurants.

Henry Clay was the first to lay in state in the nation's capitol.

Jesus Christ, you can spend $50 at Applebees. $9 appetizer, $12 entree, $8 dessert, three $6 beers, plus tax.

I learned NightHawk is a cheap bastard or a teetotaler or both.

  7. Since when does Applebee's charge $8 for dessert? I thought that would be $6 max. Plus, I don't drink beer, so with alcohol completely out of the equation, it honestly never crossed my mind that you could spend that much without ordering a second entree.

He is a teetotaler. I actually forgot that part.

OK, you might not be able to top $50 at Applebee's if you don't drink. But it's not THAT out of context. And that's a cheapass chain.

I went over $50 last week at my favorite place. Got gator bites app, crab legs for dinner, and four beers.

Also, in my defense, I haven't been to an Applebee's in years. I was just spitballing on prices.

I learned I was right! And that IJAG must be the designated driver if she's stopping at three beers.

Sorry, but with the portions that you get at a place like Applebees, my wife and I could eat what you just listed there and call it a night and it would be 50 bucks for the two of us.

Oh, Ace. After the second one you stop noticing how drunk you are.

    Applebees.com says I can get:

    Appetizer sampler: 11.99
    Bourbon Street Steak: 13.99
    Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae: 5.99

so yeah, $50 might be a push if you don't drink. Good thing I never have to worry about it!
