A lot of people would agree with you. But to me, Genesis has always been one group that handles some defections, grew, evolved and changed (somewhat) with the times. Therefore, one group, one outlook.

Hey, I like "No Reply At All" as well ... if the timbre helped to hook you, try and find "Paperlate" as well. But on "Abacab," give me "Me and Sarah Jane" or the title track first. Genesis wasn't going to add a horn section on a regular basis, though I believe they did for Knebworth years ago for a one-off concert.

  2. there's a great live show from Forest Hills NY -- Aug. 23, 1982 -- with rare live versions of Paperlate & No Reply at All with the full horn section

pretty funny hearing them go from Paperlate right into Supper's Ready

tons of genesis live shows here --- http://www.taperfriendlymusic.org/music/Genesis/
gotta download track by track, but it's worth it

No doubt, a great band. But I'm only 25. I got my first Genesis album at 10 (Way We Walk Live) and have worked my way backward through the catalog since. Next up: The Lamb. I've heard bits, but never the whole thing.

Whoa ... I'm not THAT freakin' old! :p

So you're already back to "A Trick of the Tail"? Good. Now back to the Pete era.

If you get stuck on "The Lamb," don't hesitate to quickly move on to "Selling England by the Pound." That one, "Trick ... " and "Foxtrot" - the album preceding SEPTP - are considered the group's best works.

Enjoy every note of the journey. :)

Thanks to this post from IJAG, I am now having problems getting Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" out of my head.

On the other hand .... Kylie Minogue. Mmmmmmmm.

Last weekend I heard the song "More than words" and it won't get out of my head. Is there a more ridiculous, offensive song? A song that says "If you'd just fuck me you wouldn't have to tell me you love me" sung by two guys doing a bad Everley Brothers impression.

    Sucks.
