"Voice Inside My Head," Dixie Chicks.

A girl I knew (we were friends at the time) gave up a child for adoption when we were in high school. She was the first person of whom I thought when I heard this song. Her baby boy -- who she saw for probably less than an hour -- would be 19 today.

I can't believe BYH didn't post "Meet The Mets."

It's bad form to quote myself, I know, but here's that performance -- his last, as it turns out.

"Abraham, Martin and John" by Dion ... great pick.

If anyone has heard "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" performed by Judy Garland and knows a little of the history behind that TV performance ... that's f'n incredible. Quickly, she had her TV show in 1963. JFK assassinated. She either had to cancel taping her show or go through with it. She went through with it and produced "Battle Hymn" in his memory.

"The Boxer" by Simon and Garfunkel.

"Artificial Flowers" by Bobby Darin (don't mind saying I do a great Darin vocal myself, but nothing beats the original).

I'm going "You Tube" hunting for the Garland and Darin bits. Just to post them on the list here.

Now I'd be remiss in not mentioning Pavarotti in lieu of his death. While not a big opera fan, hearing him sing sometimes touches my soul. Can't explain it ... but it does.

OK ... so I'm just going to post the Garland/"Battle Hymn" link.

    So penalize me for double-posting.
