    It had an odd pacing.

Another beef I have with the ending is that it isn't artistic for the sake of that, but is, instead, a transparent cash-grab for when the DVD comes out with the alternate endings.

We paid the fucking freight on the show ... WE should get the alternate endings... here and now.

But give Chase credit, he always made money for his partners.

So, again, were Carlo Gervasi and Burt Gervasi related?

Awkward moments, in my experience, usually do.

so... how on earth does Tony not whack him immediately after Sil tells T that Burt had to go because he was playing both sides of the fence?

That's been in the craw for a week-plus now.

Has anyone heard that the endings varied slightly between the HBO HD and regular HBO? Someone was saying that on HD (which I saw) you just hear the bell and Tony looks up followed by the black screen of about 10 seconds. I've heard others say they saw Meadow actually walking through the door and then a black screen for five seconds.

    Are they on crack?

you seriously aren't comparing the emd of a 7-season series with a 2-hour movie, are you?

The final minutes; no Meadow at the end:

I'm glad Chase didn't give us a bow-tie ending, although I agree that the cut to black was a bit much. But just because the series ends doesn't mean the characters do likewise.

Besides, we know what happens to guys like Tony: They get whacked, sent prison or assume new identities.

There's really no good reason to suspect Tony was still in danger during the diner scene, yet Chase made it feel like a hit was seconds away. I don't mind him playing with our minds a little bit, because you never know if someone will try to avenge Phil's death, regardless of Butchie's position on the matter.

That's why I like the ending. I don't think Tony died in the diner. But in all liklihood, there's a bullet or a jail cell with his name on it.

    Just not last night.

I'm hearing West Coast types saw Meadow come in. Anyone confirm?

(God, I feel like a message board geek just asking that).
