    The "things happen" defense.

    What a copout.

The one note in this show I thought was false, because I also interpreted as rooting for Tony's crew (and, by extension, New Jersey).
If we're right, then Chase mishandled the direction on this.
No way any FBI guy would make that declaration publicly.
I'd have had the other agent poke his head around the corner to pass along the news, then leave Harris alone to say this outloud to himself.

Not to pile on or anything, but:

    1. We don't know he jacked the car.

    2. Still not putting much stock in his "utter disappearance" when the two guys he disappeared from were Chris and Paulie, who couldn't even find their way back to their damn car.

He died. Slava got over it. You should too.

    What you say is true.

But what I say is also true.

This paranoia of which you speak was not evident from Tony in that scene.

It was evident from all of us.

    He was Russian special ops.

He absolutely would have tracked those guys down.

A lot of their catalog would work with the Sopranos.

Ridiculously underrated (more, overly maligned) group.

Simon, I'm really sorry to say this since it will only make you mad, but I really think you're missing the point about the Russian. Maybe it's because you don't want to accept what Zeke and I and Dedo (and others) have tried to offer as an explanation, maybe it's because you just skipped our posts, or maybe you've simply seen years and years (and years) of television and movies where the bad guy jumps out of the closet at the end with a knife. It doesn't matter if he comes back or if he died in the snow. It only matters that Chris and Paulie worried that he might. That's the point.

It's Tony's song choice from a jukebox. There was a Tony Bennett song right there, and you just knew he'd play it. Except he chose Journey. Which was perfect in its own way, because Tony had poor taste in just about everything, except occasionally in women.
Why would you suppose Tony would have good taste in music?

WE saw the blood trail and footprints disappear.

Has nothing to do with those fools.

NBC used it (instead of its own theme) to close the 'Nightly News' this evening.

Did NBC stop it at the right time?
