Another blog comment I like from the Star-Ledger link posted earlier:

Look, the ending is up for interpretation and completely open to all theories - it's a way for the characters to live on forever.

Best explanation I've read - right under "Don't Stop Believing" is the B-Side, "Any Way You Want It."

That's the way the Sopranos ended - any way you want it.

You are the one refusing to open your eyes, all your patronizing aside.

BTW, The Metamorphosis was utterly consistent with Kafka's career.

Actually, I've been far less patronizing to you than about 90 percent of the people here. But it's now clear to me that you're simply not capable of seeing things any way other than your own. It's a fictional television show, dude. You're angry because something improbable happened ON TELEVISION. It's obvious that I have wasted my time, much the same way that every single poster in the history of SportsJournalists.com did when attempting to engage you in any kind of intellecutal argument that didn't square with your warped world view. Good night.

It wasn't imPROBABLE, and you know it.

It was an absolute impossibility in an utterly non-dream-affected episode.

You keep calling it an improbability.

The most bizarre thing I have seen from you, ever.

I thought the same thing, until the scene with Meadow and Tony where she starts talking about how Italian-Americans are mistreated by the government.

You could tell even Tony, with his near-limitless capacity for self-deception, found that one a little hard to swallow. It looked to me like he was just desperate to say, "But sweetheart...you know I'm guilty, right?"

It struck me as exactly the same kind of self-aggrandizing, intentionally oblivious bullshit we've been hearing from Carm for years.

Exactly. She sounded a lot like Carm during that exchange.

    Please.

This will go down -- in time -- as one of the best ends to a series.

    It's gorgeous. It's life.

It's picking your fucking kids up day after fucking day from school.

It's cooking dinner when you know no one wants what you've made.

It's watering the azaleas when the only one who cares if they live is your neighbor.

It's how they live. It's how they've always lived and how they always will live. They deal with it the only way you can, by showing a semblance of normality.

    I thought it was brilliant.

  11. Not for nothing, but I've already heard Journey more on the radio since Sunday than I've heard them since Reagan was president.
    Comeback!

What if Chase had picked "Stayin Alive'?

    Frightening thought....
