great call from Sepinwall.... and i saw this, then forgot about it.

-Where on earth is Tony hiding out? Parts of the house resembled Junior's, but not all of it, and what would Junior be doing with a life-sized cardboard cut-out of Silvio in his living room? Frankly, what would anyone?

There are barely 5 prime characters left.

Just a stunningly good episode. To me, the scene with the Sopranos and the Buccos was as good as it gets. JG and EF do such a great job as the married couple whose who relationship is based on lies.

Very creepy vibe whenever he is on screen.

Except the shadowboxing left no doubt to what Tony and Sil thought of when hearing that music.

Funny thought that won't happen, but it would be true to character if it did:Tony goes back to Melfi's office and says "Now that I'm no longer a patient of yours, wanna go out sometime?"

Since the tease for the season finale said "No more hiding" So unless they're teasing us, there will likely be a showdown between Tony and Phil.

I seem to remember a brief scene from a season or two ago that showed Patsy handing a tape over to the Feds. Anyone remember this?

  9. Great episode, but if you ask me, Chase has really painted himself into a corner here. Given the overwhelming manpower at Phil's disposal, that Phil has "gone to ground," and Tony's crew is in shambles and holed up what appears to be Alamo-style, the only way I can see Tony getting out of this alive is either (a) he turns state's evidence and sending the Feds in to the rescue; (b) some other unsatisfying deux ex machina (like someone inside Phil's crew taking out Phil).

Or, I just thought of this: what if Carm turns state's evidence to save her family? She may not be a big fish, but I could see her taking that as a final desperation step to regain some control over her life and save her kids.

    SPOLIERS!

My wife's convinced that Paulie's the rat...no way, no how, I say. He's a cockroach who will outlive them all, but he's no rat.

Didja notice the throwaway line once they got to the safe home: "Anyone want some pizza, I'll order it."?

I think that guy's calling in their location to Phil's squad.

Always hard to take any clues from the "next week" promos, but clearly Paulie and Tony survive the night.

I thought the Melfi firing scene was the best ever in the show -- until they layered the train flying off the tracks with the killing of Bobby. That was some awesome TV.

True, but Sepinwall is validating what we, the viewer, could also think when we heard that music. I'm not saying one has more meaning than the other to the characters. It's possible to recall "Raging Bull" and understand the slow-motion boxing tribute of these mobsters on the brink and also have it resonate for us as an echo from the finale of a classic mobster trilogy.

And like Phil, he knows what it's like to have a brother killed by the Sopranos.
