Sopranos 6/3 - Second to final episode

"Jungle Fever" is on HBO Zone right now, and it's a Sopranos who's who:

    Anabella Sciorra (Gloria Trillo)
    Michael Imperioli (Christopher Moltisanti)
    Frank Vincent (Phil Leotardo)

If I remember correctly, Vincent plays the father of Sciorra's character, and Imperioli plays one of her brothers.

    Wow.

First off, Carmella, Meadow and AJ are not going to get killed. No way, no how.

Second, Tony killing himself? Wussing out when things got rough? Does that fit his character description at all?

I admit, the Paulie theory is interesting, but that's a bit much to throw into a final episode. I would think Chase would've had to foreshadow that throughout this final series. The viewers would've had to know something was up going into tonight's episode. (We all knew Pussy was cooperating with the Feds before he swam with the fishes.) That's just too big a twist to throw into the final show. ... Besides, what indication has Chase given us that someone is playing both sides? None that I know of.

I agree about the Melfi-Tony scene. Didn't really care about it, but it had to be done. That's been a major part of the show. They had to wrap that up somehow.

I'm guessing no one else dies next week, but I have to say I have no clue how this thing will end. The Feds have appeared in every episode this series, so I wouldn't be shocked if Tony turns. And it sure looked like Carmella was sitting in an (FBI?) office in next week's preview. But again, that goes against who Tony is. That would contradict his entire existence.

Then again, this show's theme always has been "No one gets out alive." So does Tony die and a rat-bastard like Phil Leotardo walks off into the sunset? I don't see that either.

A.J. isn't in position to take over the family, which is the typical mob ending.

    I have no idea.

Then it had to be Junior's, right? It looked familiar.

No way would Tony Stay in Junior's house after the last time he was there. PLus, he wouldnt have access, Janice would. Plus Junior's garage wasn't behind his house. It was neither.

I was just watching Raging Bull the other night and Phil Leotardo (well actually Frank Vincent) has the fourth leading role.

    Nice grab, Cape Fear.

I agree with BYM. The house wasn't Livia's or junior's.

Anybody think a dream finale is possible? Chase has the stones, we've seen that before...

Like I said a long time ago, I wouldn't be completely stunned if Gandolfini woke up at the end of this episode as Kevin Finnerty and the last seven years was just one big dream sequence. Can you imagine the collective thud of every jaw dropping in NJ?

Good stuff there. Some of it clears up some confusion we're having; some of it joins in our confusion. That was Phil's mistress, he says, but her dad just happens to look a lot like Phil. Oops.

And he agreed the safe house looked like Junior's in some ways, but in some ways not. Interesting. Also, Sepinwall tied in both "Raging Bull" and "Godfather III" to the scene discussed earlier.

  11. Jesus ... intense. Something's going down with Phil, though. Either a setup meaning back to prison or a whacking.

Anyone else find it odd that Phil's mistress was sleeping with someone who looked THAT much like her dad?

I've known some crazy women, but none that crazy.
