"All that you dream" by Little Feat is playing when Tony walks into the diner.

One of my favorite Little Feat songs.

It wasn't boring, but it certainly wasn't revelatory.
It was like some of the midseason episodes in the last couple of seasons when you thought something big was about to happen, but didn't.
Michael Gandolfini will catch crap because his Tony didn't steal the show, but the story wasn't really about him, except for a few scenes.
It does shine a different light on one character.

That was about all it did. The story was all over the place and not particularly satisfying.

Extremely slow moving. I'm on my fourth viewing of it. Hope it speeds up soon or I'm going to shut it down for good.

    Edit: Meh.

Long-running serials that develop characters -- or even limited series like "Mare of Easttown" -- allow stories to breathe and characters to develop. I think that concept has ruined some attempts to make two-hour movies. This had too much going on, in general. Combine that with Sopranos Easter eggs or simply trying to figure out who's who (is that Jackie Aprile? Is that Ralph? Where is Richie?) or why so many characters (other than Paulie) are suddenly so much older than Tony, and I thought it was just OK. A 6- or 10-episode series might have been better.

I thought it was incredibly good in pieces, especially those which involved the new characters

Any good podcast episodes/articles which discussed the movie? I listened to the Slate discussion which had Sepinwall, but his co-host didn’t know the show as well.

"The Big Picture" had a good discussion between Sean Fennessey and Justin Sayles, mostly about the show. (Bias alert - I went to college with Justin, and think he's a good dude.) They didn't talk a ton about the movie - about 10 minutes, spoiler free - and I kind of think it's because the consensus is that it kind of sucks. Justin's written review isn't exactly a rave.
