But is it really chili on the dog, or just the beef and beans?

Chili isn't sold on the soup aisle, so there's that.

Still waiting on Chris' official ruling.

People pour chili over rice or spaghetti. You can't really do that with soup.

Chili isn't a soup. It's lumped in there with the soups on menus, but that's the only reason we're having this conversation.

People don't have chili cook-offs and bring soups. People don't have soup cook-offs and bring chili.

That being said, I'm with Moddy on the chicken corn chowder. It's my winter bowl of pleasure.

My dad's Navy Bean soup is the best I've ever had. He uses a smoked butt instead of ham.

Leftover chili on scrambled eggs is the best secondary use of chili.

I prefer over-easy eggs on top of a bowl of chili. I then make like four slices of toast and go to town, no utensils required.

  7. Leftover chili as leftover chili is the best secondary use of chili.

In fact - homemade chili re-heated a day later is often better then fresh chili.

Well, secondary meaning other than eating it by itself. But I agree, next-day chili is often better than same-day chili.

I love broccoli soup as long as it is cream-based and doesn't use cheese. I like cheese, but not with broccoli.

In the summer, a well-made gazpacho is awesome, too.
