A-freaking-men. I know for a fact that Sampson wasn't exactly one of Knight's favorite guys in the Big 12.

This surely has to be the first time in history that anyone ever suggested that hiring Bob Knight to do any job would be "good P.R."

Is Indiana's news conference in 2 minutes, or in an hour and 2 minutes?

This Wenzel piece hit on some decent points. If Sampson seeks sympathy he's at the wrong place in Indiana, where the fan base had grown accustomed to claiming the moral high ground on these issues. It was something they could hang their hat on during losing seasons, that at least they had real student-athletes and didn't do that shady crap. Cell Phone Sampson just stole that high ground.

The Sampson mess is representative of what an administrative mess Indiana University is as a whole. The school has gone through something like six athletic directors in eight years, and Sampson's hiring occurred shortly after the school's president announced his resignation in light of a no-confidence vote from the faculty. Are the athletic department's finances still in shambles, too?

I would like to make a resolution. From here on out, anytime Kelvin Sampson's name is mentioned, he is to be referred to as "Mr. Telephone Man."

Can we put this to a vote? ;D

To add, it goes both ways. There are administrators and teachers who are still there who still has hard feelings towards Bobby and Bobby does in return.

A guy like Murray Sperber would rather see the basketball program go down the tubes than to see the program do well or have Knight walk back into the Bloomington city limits.

Murray would rather have *every* program go down the tubes, because he's still jealous that women's basketball coaches get paid better than English professors.

Be careful D-3 Fan, your boy Keno could be Bloomington-bound if he plays his cards right. :D
