You seriously think that most people are inclined to accept the accuser's word against the police? That the knee jerk reaction is to roast the officer?

In my over half decade in this country, I disagree. Reading the history of our country and more importantly the criminal procedure history in our country, I cannot agree with your theory.

Historically, accusers have had a very tall hurdle to convince the general public, let alone the jury, that the police officer was at fault, whether in violation of civil rights or simply defending against a criminal allegation.

In most cases, most people reserve judgment in a given situation until they can gather as many facts as possible and make an informed, rational decision as to what may or may not have occured. This is especally true on the Internet.

As hard as Jeff brings the hammer down, I hope it isn't long before he decides the Ruben thing is played out by now.

12 years old. Shot 2 seconds after the car arrived on the scene.

If it was a 12-year-old white girl, would it have been viewed as her fault?

I always accept and apologize when I am wrong.

If the suspect was a white or hispanic guy or a woman running, would the cop have done what he did?

If the cop was black and the suspect was white...

Lets think and use logic for a bit...

Probably not. But you're mixing arguments. Your first question was why the Rice shooting wasn't a wakeup call. My answer was because of the toy gun. Now you're turning it into an argument of whether it should be the wakeup call, not whether it was.

Oh, I know why it wasn't a wake up call for some. I just think that "why" is stupid.
