These heroes are all that stand between me and a black guy driving a nice car 61 in a 55. I'm humbled by their service.

Why is it always about race with you?

Slow the treadmill down for a moment and think about what I wrote. It's not that hard to figure out.

It's been years since I've seen that show. Loved it, but it's still been years. Why couldn't you have quoted the Simpsons, I'd have gotten that?

These heroes, our courageous men in blue, are all that stand between me and a Mexican with a headlight out.

Breaking news: People reflexively protect their own. Cops, journalists, ideologues ...

People see things differently. People are stubborn. It shouldn't surprise anyone that somebody out there will disagree with what is seemingly the most obvious conclusion.

It's not that cops defend cops. It's that the public's reaction to several instances of potential police misconduct was to lionize the profession.

I don't see that happening here. There was a lot more at work in the Ferguson shooting, which allowed it to be exploited from numerous angles. In this case, though, while you may not be getting the sound bites you crave, the silence from certain corners is a good sign.

    White cops shooting black "criminals."

I will be interested to see statistics, would this be filed as a hate crime? A mistake from a good guy doing his job? A mistake from the Charleston PD for hiring maniacs?

At least we can all agree that firemen are better than policemen.
