Yes, it is. I don't want sound bites. I want people to slow down in these situations and let the facts roll in. Now a few more will. People needed to see that sometimes cops act badly. I think that they probably, on an intellectual level, knew that. But it's like the Ray Rice video. Knowing it abstractly is one thing. Video changes things.

Now, if we can just get terrorists to wear body cameras.

    Another interesting question.

Any evidence of a black cop mistreating a white "criminal?"

Can we even find those type of stats?

There was one in Utah, I believe, that zipped around social media right after the Michael Brown shooting. A lot of, "Why is the media ignoring this!!!???" posts.

    How do we find statistics?

It seems like most of these cases always involve light skin cops mistreating dark skin "criminals."

Numbers could lead us to better conclusions folks.

Numbers are misleading and can lead to whatever conclusion someone wants.

One other thing that is unique to police -- or especially exaggerated -- is that they protect their own worst offenders. This guy's partner completely went along with the charade in the police report.

Cop shoots someone and plants a gun or taster and the other cops go along rather than rat the bad guys out. The mentality is whack, protects the very worst and tends to sink the whole gang into the morass.

In journalism, we are willing to turn on our own at the drop of a quote mark.
