Yep. No question that officers do a very dangerous job. And if I was close to an officer I would be concerned about them constantly. Doesn't excuse shooting someone in the back or choking someone to death.

By the way, if Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson weighed in on this case, how much would it hurt Scott's side of it?

The average cop IS a murderer. Or a terrorist. Or something like that.

This is basically Bernie Goetz, the cop, right?

    Solid work.

Glad they found room for the "he was a quiet kid who kept to himself" cliche.

Only one thing is missing: Was his neighborhood "tree-lined" or "gritty?"

Wasn't this Wayne LaPierre's grand idea coming out of Sandy Hook? To have unemployed or retired people be armed security, basically?

The idea of contracting outsiders to assist after extensive training is fine in theory, but just handing a gun to the highest bidder is a bad, bad look. Also, shouldn't there be an age limit on such a program? What's the retirement age for most metropolitan police departments?

A black guy that I went to college with re-posted this on his wall, he wasnt a close friend but he was one of those "cool black dudes" in college that were around athletes and all the big events.

He has been posting a lot of stuff about a "civil war that they have going vs cops."

I remember this guy saying he had family in New York...

Interesting to see how different people react to it...

"When gangs first started it wasn't to kill another black man , it was to protect our neighborhoods from white folks and the police . The Black Panthers were actually the first Black Gang in America . When we got infiltrated by the FBI because we were becoming too powerful , them folks put Crack Cocaine in our neighborhoods . They needed a way to destroy us , & put us behind bars . So they said " We need something thats kills them quicker & something to lock them up for their becoming too self sufficient . So lets bring Crack into their neighborhoods & lock them up for something we were the cause of in the first place " . CRIP stand sfor ( Community Revolution In Progress ) . BLOOD stands for ( Brotherly Love Overcomes Our Depression ) . Each gang was started because it was a brother hood & a way to push the advancement of blacc people . I know OG's and was put on by OG's so this why I know what I know outside of doing my own research . NIGGAS stop being scared of they own brothers & sisters we aint gone never overcome our depression or revolutionize our community ."

Pretty sure the neighborhood was "close-knit."
