Don't be surprised if a guilty plea to manslaughter comes soon. After the mistrial, the state is under less public pressure to get a murder conviction, and the defendant can see just how close he came to a long bid if the verdict really was 11-1 in favor of conviction..

Ridiculous it took that long. Open and shut case (except in SC and maybe a courtroom near Fenway).

 

Well in one of the death penalty threads, an argument against the death penalty was that even with video evidence it could be mistaken identity. Of course that shouldn't be the case here, but maybe that was the thinking of one asshat.
