Hey Bud, did they ever email you back?

I sent one email (for shits and giggles) around the time you sent your first. They finally got around to replying to me on May 5.

    It is indeed Martinsville Bulletin.

Hank, you're hired! The ME is the bomb. You'll never want to leave there. Greatest job in the business. Ha!

Yep, 'tis Martinsville. I got a reply on Saturday, also. Here's the response from Ginny Wray:

The ad is for the Martinsville (Va.) Bulletin, a
    20,000 6-day a.m. located 60 miles south of Roanoke,
Va. and 60 miles north of Greensboro, Winston-Salem
and High Point, N.C. The editor will manage a 3-
person staff (two writers and the editor), and they
all write and paginate pages on Quark. The emphasis is
on high school coverage, racing and more (i.e.
outdoors, a collegiate level summer baseball team,
    etc.)
If you are interested, please contact me as soon as
    possible.

I'm shocked, I say shocked, that a fine establishment like the Martinsville Bulletin would advertise a job in stealth. I mean who wouldn't want to work there? Oh yeah, everyone.

You want shocked? Word is they're having trouble filling the position.

I wonder how SportsguyBCK's friend is feeling if he's seen this thread lately? Isn't that the guy who's the SE there now?

    Now I'm stunned.

A bad paper, even the worst ones like Martinsville can usually find someone because there's always someone who needs a job. But Martinsville's reputation has gotten really bad and they obviously know that, hence the stealth ad. As long as the same ME is there, that will never change. And I doubt if she will ever leave.
