Edit: I got to meet Ferrell in Talladega for a cocktail hour and he was NOT FUNNY at all. I asked him about it, if people expect him to be hilarious all the time, and he said yes and almost all walk away disappointed. He then told a story about how he was once on a rocky plane trip to Chicago, and when the flight had a smooth landing, the attendant went on the loudspeaker and asked him to give a ``cheer'' for the perfect landing. He refused.
The day after the cocktails, Ferrell made the rounds of the track and was ``on'' and absolutely hilarious. He practically did a stand-up routine during his Q&A with the media. Alas, when I asked for ``more cowbell'' he declined.

I'll probably see it. But at what point do we start expecting more from Will Ferrell? Ever notice how Vince Vaughn isn't any good unless he's rehashing Double Down Trent? (Think Old School, Wedding Crashers, et. al.)

Save for Anchorman, Ferrell is heading that direction, reprising Frank the Tank in different roles. Yes, he can run around naked or in his drawers screaming. What else can he do?
