I'm more than amused that the inside information was just pouring out on this job when it made me look bad, but now...nothing.

There are developments on this front, but none that I should be posting right now. Either I, or the inside sources that loved to talk before, will keep you posted.

As BP said, there is movement here. More forthcoming.

Indeed, the deal, I hear, is done. And another lifeboat from the sinking DMN has apparently been recovered.

To end the string of I-know-but-you-don't posts, this was the e-mail we got from B. Tolley:

    "Good news to announce:

-- We have hired Dennis Hall of the Dallas Morning News to be assistant managing editor over New Media and Sports. Dennis has about 20 years of experience, all at papers in Texas. His first day with us will be Oct. 9.

-- Doug Kennedy will assume the role of sports editor, leading the day-to-day operations of the department. Doug has been instrumental in many of our best efforts, most recently the high school football previews. Doug will report to Dennis."

We're also in the market for a new sports designer.

Doug's been our ASE. Dennis, obviously, is leaving his Texas comfort zone. He'll even tell you that. Hopefully, their backgrounds will make for a nice balance. Last I heard, Brandon wasn't completely off the Faypub radar. But I don't know any more than that. He did come in here with a barrel -- er, laptop -- full of impressive ideas.

From the DMN to Fayetteville? Holy cow.
You're not in the Metroplex anymore.

Mike's got balls, and a little integrity, unlike the rest of us.

Speak for yourself, don't put that label on everyone. There's a lot of good people on this board.

There are tons of good people on this board. I don't disagree.
Fact is, 95 percent of the posters on here, including myself, choose to hide behind a made-up name.
    That's all I'm saying.
