I did a quick search and didn't see one. Did he do one?

Yes. He has even left up his Tweet that links to it. If there ever was a case for deleting the Tweet and deleting the story online, this is it.

    SESKER: Thanks for the memories

Now that "Days of our Lives" is on the chopping block, I'm glad we have a suitable replacement.

So I never understood these things. When I left a job six years ago, after 25 years there, a co-worker wrote a tribute (unauthorized by me of course) and he must have used the term "Hector was" was least 6 or 8 times. I didn't appreciate being placed in the past tense.
Fast forward to this spring. I made my return to the same paper. Was asked to write an "I'm back!" piece, and I passed.

I said it another thread, but - As someone who ran a Patch site and had access to numbers, these kind of columns do well, and they don't really take much effort to write. Also, while I understand not wanting to navel-gaze constantly in the newspaper, I do think it's stupid when papers don't acknowledge staff changes at all. Of course, there is always the chance you have egg on your face if you inexplicably rejoin that same paper a week or two later... but as long as he didn't go "Half Baked" as he left, that local area is probably glad he's back anyway.
