    Damn.

Heather is greatness. She's going to be a rockstar at USAT.

If she's reading this - the guy with the rubber hand wants to buy you a Cosmo. :D

    Any word?

(No, I didn't apply; I know a couple of people in the sports department there.)

When you see white smoke coming out of the James Monroe Building, they've made their hire.

Silvestri, Proctor and the rest of the junta are taking their time with this one. However, i believe they are a lot closer at selected someone than many expect.

Either that or the Union troops are closing in.

No, that would be that other great Confederate tradition: the white flag. :D

Little Birdie News Service has sent this over the wire: One outside candidate (Dave Ammenheuser of Riverside) has been interviewed, as already discussed; another interviews this week and a third interviews next week. A fourth finalist comes from the current RTD staff.

I know names! I know lotsa names! Bruce, Harry, Kristopher, Elizabeth, Zachary ...

Oh ... wait. Of the outside candidates?

EDIT--1stADD: Kevin Manahan was at the RTD office today and met with the staff. Next week, Ron Fritz of Wilmington, Del., is coming in.

Presumably, the inside candidate has already met with the staff. :D

Ron Fritz, it appears, will not be getting this job. He's going to Baltimore.

No word on who will get the job, though.

So that leaves three candidates, two external, one internal?

But both external candidates might, and I emphasize MIGHT, be withdrawing as well.

Is the inside candidate Douglas Southhall Freeman?

How many newspaper publishers get high schools named after them?

I didn't know people went to Baltimore, I only thought they left ...
