Kind of a high-horse turn in this job thread. People make priorities (and make kids, for that matter), but lording your choices over someone else's, whether it's paying for moving expenses or dismissing people wo rent, is not too mature.

Yup. Read his old posts. He says something stupid every time he takes a break from lurking and sticks his neck out ... then he goes back into hiding.

 

He also sounds pretty self-centered.

 

I hope this works out for everyone involved. If it doesn't, more than the SE loses his job over a hire like this. The guy who made the call would follow him out the door, too.
Gannett would simply look at that as an excuse to swing 1 ax and kill 2 salaries.
