The "entire sports staff" of TBD.com consisted of one person after Mike Jones left to take the Redskins beat at the Post. David Aldridge and Dan Daly (and sometimes myself) contributed columns but were never actual staffers.

Didn't know it had gotten that small. Site had the capability to have a great presence if it wanted to.

Will there be any African American representation on the staff? Hopefully in a town that is 55.6 percent African American, there will more than the customary "token."

Nope. None. He's adamant against hiring minorities. :)

Nice use of the race card, Drip. I'm sure Moddy appreciates it.

I heard the Times won't even use black ink -- they'll use something called "flesh", which they got from an old-school Crayola pack

I know you're joking Mizzou but a couple of DC area scribes who are African-American asked me about the situation at the Times. I told them how to reach out for more information and let it be that. However, the question is relevant and timely. It's not meant to put anyone on the spot.

He's going to hire a couple, but he'll put them on the Capitals beat. :)

One of the two guys who asked me about the gig has NHL experience.

You could have asked your relevant and timely question privately, Drip.

    No I couldn't and I have tried.
Ace, does the question bother you?

Interesting. About 800 people have managed to find me (no exaggeration) through a wide variety of sources. I'm not doing a staff search strictly by PMs.

Not sure why any candidate would think it is a good idea to contact you for information. You don't have any information about what is going on here. First you take a suble (well not so) dig at me and now you're trying to put Ace on the spot?

    Wow.

    OK, back to work.
