If I wanted to take a dig at you, I would. I don't have the time or inclination to do so.
As far as asking me about what's going on at your place, these two guys just wondered what was up. That's all and PLEASE don't dig into it any more than that. I told them how to reach out to you and hopefully, they did.
I trust this answers your questions.

Nope. Just reaffirms a couple of thoughts.
And trust me - I have a staff to hire and sections to plan. I have no time or inclination to dig into more of your horsecrap. I don't have as much time now to check in here as much as I'd like either. Good to see that when I do, Drip remains Drip.

You really need to check your ego with me.
They asked me what did I know about the gig and you. i told them you were a good guy and how to reach you. That's all. The response wasn't needed.
Again, check your ego. I'm not impressed.
    Moddy remains Moddy.

I'm with Moddy. The question was asked with the percentages all ready to throw back at him.

There are a lot of egos in this business, Moddy doesn't appear to be one of them.

Thanks Mizzou. I'll cop to a bit of an ego, though I think that's necessary in this business.
With that, out to grocery shop and load up the larder in my temporary digs. Found a joint on the Potomac where dogs are not only allowed, they are encouraged!

Telling us about your errands ... sheesh ... egomaniac! :)

The question wasn't asked to put Moddy on the spot and I emphasized that point. I'm sure that he is putting together the best staff that he can.
This is 2011 and it amazes me how people tend to fly off the handle whenever the question of race comes up in a conversation.
Oh and Moddy, congrats on finding a place that will take your dogs. I know that was very important for you.

Oh stop being so passive-aggressive. You asked the question like it didn't occur to a veteran editor that he should care about diversity in the newsroom, and you did it in a particularly weenie way. People don't fly off the handle when the topic of race comes up. People get pissed when you try to race bait. Again. It's completely unnecessary and cheapens the conversation. You might as well remind people to wipe when they're finished their business.

So, two guys who are reporters didn't know how to get ahold of the new editor of the Washington Times and decided to check in with Drip for info instead?

Sounds like their investigative skills might not be so great.

Race is an issue that many people can't talk about without getting emotional.
@MM: I'd like to know what you mean by race-baiting? The question is relevant and wasn't meant as a dig.
@ Yankeefan: These guys, who are pretty damn good and have been in the business for nearly as long as Moddy and I, were miffed at not receiving any aknowledgement. They asked me what did I know about the gig and Moddy because they wanted to get a feel for what's going on. I'm sure you've asked someone about a gig or someone. And for your information and for the LAST time, I told them I didn't know much about the gig and gave Moddy a glowing endorsement.
@Piotr Rasputin: Thanks and have a great day.

I think this is Drip's way of bitching that he didn't get a call back.
