Your obtuse shtick is both annoying and amusing.

It is but Moddy -- the person with whom said position was filled -- is using it to update us as he makes hires to the staff.

Actually, Moddy is firing several people right now and heading to a Rainbow Coalition meeting so they can approve of everyone he hires.

We didn't land on the Washington Times, The Washington Times landed on us!

The same could be said for you and countless others. You have a problem with the way the question was posed. It's been noted.

OK. Enough. Please. That's the moderator in me talking, not The Times SE.
    But The Times SE agrees.

That made me laugh harder than it should have.

"Hey Moddy, Why don't you have any brothers at The Times?"

So, two guys who have been around the block got their feelings hurt when they didn't get called back right away?

Have they applied for jobs before?

Did it not occur to them that, especially with multiple jobs to fill, the hiring manager (Moddy) might be too busy to personally reach out to every single applicant and hold their hand?

With a short time frame, he needs to focus on the people he is considering for the job. That's just life and your friends should understand that.

While I'm sue that Moddy would like to personally respond to everyone, time restraints don't always allow it.

Your friends need to get over it.

My "friends" are colleagues and have been around long enough to know how the game is played. I'm confident they're going to be fine.

(shaking his head at the thought of locking a thread about his own workplace)

Contrary to how it sounds, I have not hired YF as spokesman, though I probably should. Not sure I'd use the same words but the general point is there. I would like to respond to everyone. Perhaps I will be able to, eventually. But maybe not. Stuff continues to pour in and there's more to do than hire. We publish two weeks from Monday.

I suppose I could quit taking my lunch/SJ breaks and contact some folks, though.

In more relevant news to this thread, just saw Stephen Whyno announce on twitter that he's the Capitals beat writer for the Times.

    Per WashTimesSports tweet:

Now on board - Carla Peay (Wizards, other pro sports, colleges) and Steve Whyno (Capitals, other pro sports, GA). Still some slots to fill.
