Rokski--I usually agree with you, but I've got to disagree with you on Beningo and Russillo. Russillo is a Boston guy, but he knows more about the NBA than a lot of guys who are working in front offices. And he had practical work experience before he started working in sports talk, unlike old Joe. (Who, for the record, I like.) Plus, Russillo is the subject of one of the great voicemails of all time--he has a running feud with John Dennis, a guy from Boston's WEEI, and Dennis left a long, rambling voicemail on his cell, threatening to kick his ass for talking to his daughter.

Good points, CC. No reason you have to agree with me. :)

I always liked Ferrall. I can do a passable impression. "Shot and a beer and a shot and a beer and a shot and a beer and a shot and a beer and a shot and a beer and a shot and a beer and a shot and a beer and a shot and a beer and a shot and shot and a beer."

    Not bad, huh?

I miss the (Sports) Junkies out of D.C., who briefly went wider in syndication. They tended to talk about a lot of stuff besides sports (like, um, porn) but they were four neighborhood buddies who started out with a cable access show and had great chemistry. And that's lacking on almost all the radio I hear these days, especially the ones that have rather arbitrarily added female talking heads – most of whom never seen to add much to the conversation.

I never can get past the irritating-sounding voice. He's good on hockey, but all he does is complain about the league office.

Here's another one for the Sports Junkies out of DC. The show was fantastic when it was just about sports, but even better when it started mixing other stuff into the show. No phoney voices, no agendas (for the most part); just four guys sitting around playing poker online and talking. You can listen online at junkiesradio.com, but they come on too early for me.

Ferrall is absolutely awful. I've heard him only a few times, but it seems like he was always talking about which chicks he banged last weekend in that horrid, gravel voice of his. The show is more about him and less about the interesting stuff, like sports.

Most mornings, I can stomach Mike and Mike, but this morning isn't one of them. Greenburg is such a fucking pansy, almost like he wants to have his man card taken away. I understand the dynamic they're going for -- Golic the manly one and Greenburg the girly one, but sometimes they go a little overboard. Very annoying.

I listened to a lot of talk radio over the years.

Loved Kornheiser's old ESPN show. Sportswriters were the usual guests. Liked when Rome was character driven. That show has changed a lot since. James Brown got good guests. Dan Patrick, well, at least he threw Rob Dibble out of the bus in moving traffic in front of a tattoo store.

Before leaving on a road trip last week, however, I got in my rental car, Mike and Mike came on, I proceeded to puke, or at least want to throw up in my mouth a little -- a la the fox in Dodgeball -- and haven't listened to any of this shit since.

What's left of my brain cells thanks me.

What the world needs now is for most of these muthafuckas to STFU.

OK, peace, I'm outta here. See y'all at the next March on Washington. Fight the power.

Any love here for the Two Live Stews in HOTlanta? The ATL has two sports stations, but both have terrible signals and have terribly spotty reception.

2LiveStews used to be on TV. Maybe they still are, I don't know. I never really got into them for some reason. They're not bad, not great.

Someone mentioned this on another thread, and it may have been mentioned here. But what do you guys/gals think of radio shows being simulcast on TV? Personally, I love it. I wish they'd put more on TV.

    Thoughts?

It worked out well for Imus--until recently. You could go to the gym and listen at the same time. Can't stand Mike and Mike on ESPN 2 though.

  10. I caught you, you crafty guy.
Put me down for a no.

The FSB/Nancy Donnellan does fill-in work in Tampa.

    It's Ron Barr. Just sayin'.

    More pictures, please.

I enjoy Ewen and Roughy's Real Football Phone In. The hosts are surprisingly calm for the amount of over the top call-ins.

Boomer Esiason, who just replaced Imus, has been utterly brutal. There is no reason to be discussing the New York Giants playoff chances on 1 May. None.
