The man's hosting a news commentary program. Of course he'll discuss the issues of the day, and a lot of those come back to W's door. But when things with no connection to politics like the VT shooting happen, Olbermann does a terrific job too.

Is Somers still on? I used to listen to him on WFAN from Ohio when I had a third-shift summer job in college. Maybe my favorite ever.

Is that Verdun, the Somme or Ypres, Fen?

If anyone has an MP3 of this bit, I'd like to hear it so I can make a proper edict. But from the sound of it, it doesn't sound any different from what the morning show does on The Ticket in Dallas on an almost-daily basis.

Don't get me wrong, The Ticket is my favorite radio station in Dallas. But (sidekick) Gordon Keith pushes the racial envelope on a regular basis with his impersonations of various local and national figures (Jerry Jones, Tiger Woods, etc.) plus some fake characters he created, and some of the stuff he puts on the air is far worse than what the guy in SA got fired for. Keith often makes racial jokes, gay jokes, scatalogical jokes, and anything else that makes Imus look tame.

The hosts (Dunham & Miller) enable him by conducting the fake interview. Sometimes it's ROFL funny, other times it falls flat, and other times it's cringe-worthy and borderline disgusting. Amazingly, nobody in Dallas has ever called them out once.

Listen online at 8:40 a.m. CT at http://www.theticket.com/ for their daily "funny bit." Warning, if you catch them on a good day, you may become a fan. But you may also be disgusted by their form of shock humor.

I love Somers, just because of his over-the-top style. "Me here, you there, SCHMOOZING until 6 a.m...."

That Olbermann/Patrick hour can be tremendous. I love Olbermann ... when he's commenting on sports. But when the conversation strays, it can quickly become unlistenable.

Colin Cowherd just said "Thank God for me."

He was talking about how great it is that he likes issue-oriented radio, unlike 'fat guys' who like to break down games.

    What a moron

I don't know who the female co-host was today, and while I was more idealogically in tune with their attitudes than I ever was with Imus, Boomer's venture into the world of politics did not go well this morning. Made you long for the good old days of Mike & the Mad Dog's post-game analysis of the Va. Tech attack.

I feel very bad for McCord who has been reduced to a radio version of Ed McMahon.

Barkley on Dan Patrick right now. Good stuff

  10. Uh, every night, in the segment called "Oddball"?
During his weekly American Idol check with that NYC lady dj?
All the Anna Nicole stuff he's done?
    His tributes to Buck O'Neil?

Jason Smith has the same problem as many local hosts -- he thinks we care about him.
Why should we know the name of his girlfriend or who his favorite teams are?
