3 hours of Doug Gotlieb on "The Pulse" is about 2 hours and 45 minutes too much, IMO.

No, they're not bad. They're awful, probably the worst interviewers in the history of the medium.

I listened to them stammer through an interview last week and it was so painful to listen to that I couldn't change the channel fast enough. Terrible interviewers, disorganized format and "innings eaters" (great line, BTW) do not a good show make.

Rickard I can deal with. He's not great, but he's better than a lot of other "innings eaters," IMO. Rusillo (?) is annoying, IMO. He is a huge Boston fanboy, and he's a bit too smug for me.

What about John Kincaid? He seems arrogant to me. He's nearly as bad with his facts as Cowherd.

Today, Rickard on the Sports Bash kept goofing up the teams in the Warriors-Jazz series. He was calling it the Jazz-Rockets, then Warriors-Rockets. Idiot got it right after the fourth or fifth time he mentioned the teams.

Glad it wasn't Seibel though. Damn that guy is horrible.

And another props on the "innings eater" comment. Outstanding.

He does look like a snively little punk who's up to no good. Probably trying to get a glimpse of Michelle Bonner's or Cindy Brunson's ta-ta's.

He's the modern-day sports version of Eddie Haskell.

D-I hoopster, though ... that's more than most of them can say.

Bobby V was great back in the day too.

    I love Bobby V.

Cowherd totally sucks knob. He is talking about how Duncan is bad for his business. Hey, herd: You talking about what's bad for your business is like writers talking about how bad the food is in the pressbox: No one cares.

And now his producer is ripping off a bit that Jorge Sedano did to parody Dirk, making up an imitation song based on "This is why I'm hot." *Yawn*

Unfortunately, there's a minor league baseball game on right now on the Fox affiliate. I need Sirius.

  9. And yet, you keep listening.

ESPN Radio has been big on hiring people who can "go both ways", on TV and Radio I mean. I'd forgotten Peter Brown. I never liked shows he did with Bruno, they always seemed like 19th hole circle jerks with their rim shots.

Doug Gottlieb doesn't seem to put much into the show if if doesn't involve college basketball. Problem with the WWL leader is they don't put radio people on the air. Newspapers/covering a beat/columns are one thing, but radio is a different animal.

The format also sux. they play 5-minutes of commercials, then do an update at :20, :40 and the top of the hour. That's 7-8 minutes.... As soon as I hear "this is ESPN radio," I flip the dial.

Why do we need a "sportscenter express" every ten minutes at night? Who cares that the Cavaliers are beating the KNicks by 8 in the second quarter? The rare time they do an interview that I actually care about, the break totally disrupts the flow.

that's my biggest beef with sports talk radio. the local station here in miami finally switched to two updates an hour - at the top and bottom. three was just ridiculous especially all day long when nothing ever changed from 20-minute segment to 20-minute segment.
