So you're the guy who told him he needed to have more baseball scores on the show?

I've been sitting here trying to think of the network that featured Scott Ferrall overnights and it finally came to me: One on One Sports! I can't believe they still exist under Sports Map Network or something after being owned or partnered with everybody from the Sporting News to Yahoo! to SB Nation.

I noticed two things last week that may shine a light on the state of sports radio. (And they could have been there while, but I’m commuting again three days a week so I’m listening for longer periods)
    - Dan Patrick doing Full Sail University ads for their sportscasting degrees. I thought Full Sail was a diploma mill…I want to call in as ask how many full sail grads work for him.

    - Jim Rome begging for ads and sponsors. It was subtle to someone not in the industry, but have been media for a long time, it was an interesting tell. It basically it was him going “hit us if you want to be part of this amazing sports show.” He also did an ad got his own gambling podcast that also felt off.

Dan Patrick has been doing the Full Sail stuff for a long time. I haven’t listened to Rome in years. He used to bitch about being cleared only part of the time in D.C. I can’t imagine he’s cleared in any major markets today, except maybe LA. I wonder if he owns the show now, instead of CBS Sports/iHeart/whoever doing it.

He used to get decent interviews - now the people he has on seem so random. He's getting paid at CBS, but the show has suffered. And now former producer Kyle Brandt might be taking some of his reps on NFL Today.

Didn't realize Brent Musberger isn't doing radio play by play for the Raiders anymore. Too bad. He was great. Since he announced his departure in June, I wonder if it was his comments following the Gruden firing that did it.

I don't think Rome is on the air in LA. He's on a San Diego station that doesn't make it up north like the Mighty 690 did in the day. He can be seen on the CBS Sports TV network.

I listened to Rome for years and was a fan. I don't know if I outgrew him or if his airtime no longer matched with my availability, but I never listen anymore.

After he was cut by the Cowboys and before he hooked on as an assistant coach pre-Northwestern, Pat Fitzgerald sold commercial time for One on One. The way NU's season is going, he may get to do something in sales again.

Does Ferrall have a gig any more? Seems to be the type who burns through jobs quickly.

Ferrall has a voice I just cannot listen to. Like he gargled shards of glass and washed it down with lighter fluid.

Wasn’t that the l same network that hosted the Fabulous Sports Babe? I remember them being on in New York at one point, not sure if it was at the same time.
