    WithOUT the sports editor signing off on it, they fired me in 2015.

    Usually if you're fired, you don't come back.

    Worked out for me, though.

    Landed a non-journo job, with $2.50-per-hour raise, the following month. Have gotten several raises since then and now have awesome benefits and 184 vacation hours per year I can use mostly any time I want.

    Also have time to string for the state's largest newspaper. Have made $4K per year since 2015 stringing.
