I'm assuming this is the same Nick Mathews who was the SE in Newport News, Va. for a bit not too long ago (and previously in Athens, Ga., I believe).

One and the same. Good guy who did a good job replacing an SJ fave in Doug Roberson. He kept me fat with freelance work during my last unemployment and was very encouraging, enthusiastically so, which is a rare trait among SEs at that level and higher.

 

If he's even half as good a guy/sports editor as Doug Roberson, he's way better than most. Lots of folks working for Nick liked to call him Doug 2.0. Apparently he's blazed his own trail. Have heard good things about him.
