    (3) IF ANYTHING ITS AN INDICTIMENT ON THE INDUSTRY AS A WHOLE.
I still find it odd that a business that is quick to chastise another industry about its racial and sexual makeup has trouble looking at itself in the mirror.

This is the only part I agree with.

You have a problem with Rusty and Gannett?

I have no problem with Rusty or Gannett.
I like Rusty. Good dude in the biz. Gannett started my career. No qualms on both of them.

I have a problem with the industry overall coming down on other industries on the lack of diversity and not looking at themselves in the mirror. The hypocrisy.

I agree. unfortunately, when one brings up the subject around here, the "race-baiting" flag is flown.

The fact that nobody sees it as a problem is a major part of the problem. There's not much you can do about that.

I disagree Riddick. Obviously there some, such as myself and dcdream, who view it as a problem. As far as bringing the subject up for healthy discussion, you're right there's not much anyone can do about that.

I don't feel like you're race-baiting, and I don't think that nobody thinks this is a problem or a legitimate issue, either.

I just think there are bigger fish to fry in this business, and people's reactions to such discussions are a reflection of that.

So someone should be hired because of gender or race?

Why not pick the most qualified candidate and go from there?

Don't have a problem with the discussion, but we're not going to do it here. Start a thread on another board. Congrats to Ross.
