The reason people keep repeating shit on this thread is because people like slapdog here apparently do not read what has already been written. If Tyler broke up via text, he fucked up. If Anthony Weiner took a picture of his junk and twitted it to some coed, he fucked up. Did either happen? I don't know. Jon Stewart insists Weiner's weiner creates less of a bulge than the picture in question. I haven't talked to Tyler since he interned for us a year ago. So it's all hearsay in my book.

Either way, he's a good dude with great potential. And I will now stop repeating myself.

Based on this board's history, those who have been shredded here for changing their minds about jobs have done pretty well for themselves.

Tyler should have called Tim. I wouldn't even have had a problem with him leaving a voice mail. He didn't... Oh well...

Anybody know anything about this position -- whether the second place finisher is gonna get it or if they're going to some more interviews?

I've learned a few things about this - though I admit I'm hearing some conflicting reports. Not at all certain it was handled as poorly as we seem to believe.

I second what 35in44 said. I have no idea what Tim Graham did to deserve that "worm" crack. I've worked with him on boxing, NHL & NFL beats and he's always been professional and honorable. He's always been generous and helpful to me, and I think most people who've gotten to know him would agree.

No one here actually knows if the guy called to turn down the job or not.

Third. Tim Graham is the ultimate professional and a first class person to boot. Shame on whoever that poster is for going there with his remarks. Tim is the type of journalist and person all of us should strive to be like.

This was probably everyone's first thought when they read that. And yet, it was one of Dunne's defenders -- one of the people who probably want this discussion/thread ended -- who posted it.

This is a good and true point, and why I've endeavored not to even address it. What some of the people who know and love Tyler should be doing if they want to end this thread is trying to find out from him if he did, in fact, only text the Sun-Sentinel.

Or, someone from the Sun-Sentinel, perhaps, could enlighten us, about that, as well as the current application process and/or the standing of any of the other top candidates from the previous search.

Barring that, there's nothing on this thread that's not worth discussing. That's why the conversation has gone on so long. It's compelling, and there are unresolved questions. If Dunne, or someone who knows him well, or someone from the S-S, comes on and addresses the issues, then, guess what?

The discussion will end. If it doesn't end before that, who cares? This is what happens on message boards, and it's why people read them and post on them.

Including all the people trying to shut down the discussion by insulting the posters.

I didn't think the defense for spending seven pages talking about this would come until about the 10th page.

And that is not to insult the posters. That is merely a sociological observation.
