I already regret typing this, and am prepared to take all kinds of shit for it, but: There's something about that blog that makes me feel, I don't know, uneasy? Not the content, but the tone. Is it just a little too glib? Cute?

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/womaninprogress/

Seems ironic that for decades women in sports have made every effort to not make their gender an issue....and now here's one where gender is going to be THE issue. Not even because of the transformation, but because we have a blog chronicling trips to Claire's and Victoria's Secret, and I know this is a 'don't read it if you don't like it' thing, but I can't help but feel there's some flaunting going on here.

In no way am I judging anyone's choices in life, and I wish Christine well...but this is the LA Times, not a private journal, thus open to discussion.

It made me uncomfortable, too, 21. But most everything about this topic makes me uncomfortable, which, admittedly, is a lacking on my part. But I have to be honest.

Here's hoping and also believing that there will be the one thing (this blog) and then all the rest of her work (writing about sports/sports media/events, whatever).

If that's accomplished, then the Times only serves as a venue for the one, and I don't see that as a really big deal.

Perhaps your thong is a size too small, casty.

My brother, who is not in sports journalism, was pissed that the Times wasted space on this story. We talked about it awhile and it goes back to the question of whether readers notice bylines. I don't think they do, which would support my brother's feeling that this was a waste of space in the Times. I'm still not sure.
Also, she was interviewed on a local radio sport talk show Sunday, her first interview. My first thought since the initial story was about wife Lisa Dillman. I did not hear the Sunday interview, but the show's host was interviewed on another show today and he said that he was told not to ask about the wife situation, and he didn't.

If you were Lisa Dillman, would you want to be mentioned?

Again, the reason Blondebomber can't write about his wife's miscarraige but could write about having a sex change is about one thing and one thing only: AGENDA OF FORCING YOU AND ME TO BE TOLERANT of ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, be it right or wrong. This was a personal decision, the columnist should have let it be that and shut the hell up.

Not only does he/she have the most fascinating blog in the history of blogs (though i do wish the entries were shorter), but this story really needs to be done by 60 Minutes or something.

As much as I feel for the wife, I think it's definitely noteworthy to this story.

When a serial killer is caught, don't they interview his ex-wife?

So Christine is a serial killer now?

    No, Ace. Double-check the pronouns.
