  1. You are not going to believe this, at least Angola wont, but I'm going to say it anyway. I think you're right Bertolt.

I don't condone smoking but I do believe if you go to a bar where there is music, drinking, pool tables, dart boards, etc. that smoking should basically be allowed. Now there could be a small non-smoking designated area I suppose for those insistent on being in a smoke-free space but I don't think a bar is supposed to be smoke free. I mean, to be honest, the smoking at a bar is part of the charm of the bar if you will.

Also, Bertolt, before you say that just because I don't smoke that I think poorly of you, then you really need to reconsider. I have way too many skeletons in my closet to start casting stones and saying I'm better than anyone. I know I'm not. Now, that doesn't make me a better person just because I don't smoke. It just means I don't like dealing with the smoke but there are plenty of people that are very very very good people whether they smoke tobacco or a peace pipe.

I'm really in no place to judge people. My sarcasm on here comes off that way, but I really do not think any less of anyone who smokes, drinks or has other vices. Heck, I curse like a sailor. To me, there's no difference and if there is, the cursing is much worse because it's an indication of an angry person who can't express himself in more civil terms. Just letting you know, I'm not putting anyone down for smoking. I've dated several girls that smoked in my time, and besides, I've done much worse so I have no room to speak.

I'm not one of those crusaders who sought to ban smoking from bars. I pretty much assumed it came with the territory.

That said, as a non-smoker, I can't say I shed a tear when it happened.

  3. But are you a drinker? That's the question here.

Pretty much where I stand on that issue, too.

I will say it does feel weird to be in a bar and not to smell the smoke anymore. Still takes some getting used to.

  5. See Angola, you can't slam me here! I defended the smokers and the smoking in bars and I'm not even a smoker!!! I mean, my feeling is, if you go into a bar, you know what you're getting ... beer, women, more beer, and that funky smell of smoke on your clothes!!! It's a fair trade in my book.

I end up buying the drinks for everyone. Let's just say when I am having fun, I like to celebrate the fact I am having fun and I love to treat people by buying them drinks (nothing more, you whacks on this board who are probably thinking something else ::) ).

However, I do most of my drinking away from bar establishments. It happens in the confines of my home or my pals houses. (Again, I buy booze for myself and for others too.)

    soooooo, how you doin'?

  11. I'll let you buy me a drink anytime. There's just something totally cool about chicks that dig sports. In fact, I'll buy you a drink just to pick your brain and see why you decided to join this male-dominated business.

No offense, but in my eyes, sportschicks are very hot. Well, the ones that aren't the size of a beached whale anyways.
