Sports writers and drinking

Well, as someone who often enjoys a cold beer with a cigarette, I'll meet you halfway.

 

Well, as someone who recently gave up beer and cigs also, I'm pretty pissed off at the whole situation.

The real bummer is that I had to give up the beer to give up the cigs, since the cigs had become a habit with the beer.

I'm totally screwed.

I got tired of smoking. Giving up beer for a while just makes it easier.

Habits die hard: Grab a beer, grab a cig.

 

I probably shouldn't say this, Dan. But I just grabbed both.

Back to drinking. Has anyone ever noticed how damn good pizza is with beer? I had an old boss who would only drink beer if he could eat pizza with it. Told me there was no other way to drink, and no other way to eat pizza.

After carefully considering his thoughts, I decided to give it a try ... this was when I had just turned 21 ... and I'll be dang if he wasn't right. That beer was the best beer and that pizza was the best pizza I had ever had simply because I had them together.

I can understand how cigarettes go with beer also. Anybody got a thing for beer and pizza? Or does anybody else have a different combination?

 

Cigarette and a pancake? Cigar and a waffle? Bong and a blintz?

I agree on the pizza-beer combo, although I wouldn't take it quite that far. I also think Heineken is the perfect pizza beer.
