Now all the pieces fit together :)

For what it's worth, my old paper has quit replacing folks that leave in sports. I think they are down to three full-time writers now. I don't know how they do it. They've got too many beats for that.

SE, ASE, eight FT writers, six deskers. Eight or so part-timers/agate clerks.

We're a state-wide paper, so we take scores and such from the entire state. We cover full-time about 45 high schools.

One Division I BCS school, 2-3 Division II schools, minor league baseball and hockey teams, etc.

19K weekdays, 24K Saturday edition (6-day per week)

One SE, one full-timer, several unpaid interns from the local colleges "in season"
19 HS, 1 Div. I institution, 1 Div. III institution, and we do our own pagination, although that may change in the next month...

    16K circulation
SE, two full-time writers, one old timer who does speciality pages (golf, outdoors), one part-time call-in guy (as soon as I hire him), one guy who desks on Friday nights, a handful of stringers ... so I guess 4.14 plus stringers
11 high schools, two Division II colleges

I think you've got it backward.

It doesn't say circulation in relation to staff size. ;)
