    Gilbert Gottfried is hilarious... He was booked to open for the Go Gos and was told to "be clean since they're were families in the audience"

    Gilbert's act is as dirty as it gets... He dropped the c-word five times in the first few minutes and got booed off the stage...

    I may be in the minority, but I think that's hilarious... The guy who booked him for that kind of a show should be fired...

    Bill Cosby's current stand-up act is as unwatchable as it is unfunny...

    Gottfried tore it up at Hefner's roast a few years back. Gottfried followed Ice-T and parroted him word-for-word. Not a fan, normally, but it struck me as hilarious that night.

    Otherwise, I'm out of the loop when it comes to stand-up, though if I see one show the next time I'm in Vegas, it'll be Seinfeld.

    I'm a big fan of Jim Norton, Kevin James, Bob Saget, Bill Burr and Louis CK. Leary may be my favorite of all time.

    Never heard a female comic I enjoyed. They all suck. Every last one of them.

    These guys may not have their own TV specials (they might and I've just missed them), but they are great when you see them in local clubs:
    * Todd Yohn
    * Heywood Banks
    * Tim Wilson

    Female comedians I like...

    Sarah Silverman
    Lisa Lampanelli
    Bonnie McFarlane
    Ellen DeGeneres

    I agree there aren't many...

    That's the truth about White, its his delivery more than the material that's great about his act. The exact same material performed by anybody else wouldn't be nearly as funny.

    Janeane Garafalo was really funny when she did standup back in the day.

    Now, not so much.

    I thought Roseanne Bahr's standup in the mid-80s was great stuff. She was really one of the first to stand up and say "yup, I'm a stay at hom mom and lemme just tell you how fun it is to be stuck at home all day wheil you people are out at work."

    And Sarah SIlverman is suffering from Paul Shore Symdrome. Despite the fact that limited people find her funny, she's jammed down our throats constantly like Shore was in the late 80's. "What? You dont like her standup? Well, maybe you'll like her show? DOn't like that either? HOw about we have her host the MTV awards? Goddamit, we'll find SOMETHING that she does that you like..."

    Only thing she could do that I would like would be porn.

    Lampenelli is funny only to the point that she is loud and annoying. Essentially, a female Carlos Mencia. Only sometimes she can be funny.

    Silverman is probably the only funny female stand-up comedian I like. Her movie was pretty good, her TV series, not so much. She's been quoted a lot backing you up saying that women just aren't funny ... at least at stand up.

    Lampenelli is more like Dice than Mencia. WAY more.
